An Altar is a block available in the Horror mod. Added in its very first version, it can be used to unlock Horror themed characters and legacies. Like most interfaces in the Legends mod, the Alter can be crafted in a vanilla Minecraft crafting table. To access characters in the Horror Mod, the player must sacrifice a certain amount of souls to unlock them. However, the legacies will require them to have a certain amount of experience points and have been infected with a effect, e.g. vampirism to become a vampire.

To craft an altar, you will need:
- 4 Polished Andersite
- 4 Torches
- A Bottle of Blood
Upon crafting an altar, the player will also be granted the Necronomicon.
